VI COMMANDO

Prt. Stan N. Upton was a young Commando serving in No.1 Troop of No.6 Commando on D-Day – he was described as being slim and ginger-haired and was slightly wounded when a Schmeisser bullet grazed his top lip.

He was later promoted to Corporal.

He remained as a serving soldier after the war and became a Major with the S.I.B. Detachment of the Army Provost Branch in Germany.
